Alexander Michaels is our favorite Uptown date night spot for a few reasons. The 4th ward neighborhood is so dang cute and charming, and the exterior of Alexander Michaels is no exception. The relaxed, dimly lit atmosphere inside is perfect for relaxing, hanging out and talking. The hosting and wait staff are super down to earth and polite.
It's just great every time we go.
What we did:
- We went on a Tuesday night at about 5:30 p.m. Going early means street parking will be a little bit easier in 4th ward, as well as potential to get a booth-ideal for date nights.
- After dinner we went on a 30min walk around 4th ward, taking in the next level Halloween decorations. Simply looking at the houses in this neighborhood and the uptown views they enjoy is enough of a sight even if there are no seasonal decorations up.
What we ordered:
- Appetizer: Fried pickles
- Beer: Me: IPA (was on draft and can't remember) Her: Windy Hill Hard Cider
- Meal: Me: Buffalo Chicken sandwich and seasoned fries Her: Black bean burger and regular fries
What made it great:
The Alexander Michaels pub atmosphere is so cozy and you want to stay there forever to just unwind. It's a neighborhood bar and even though we don't live in the neighborhood we feel so welcome. Everything on the menu is a great price and value, and we left so full!
